The 3 Best Desserts That I Ate in 2015

Yes, I know, you're probably getting a little tired of seeing these lists, but last year I was visiting a couple of cities in my country Slovenia and I just couldn't resist to put my favorite dishes together. Although I'm usually quite careful about what I eat, there are some things no one can resist after tasting them. So, here are the best mouth watering dishes I ate in 2014.

Prekmurska Gibanica
This heavyweight dessert from the Prekmurje region is one of those authentic Slovenian dishes that just scream "Eat me without feeling bad about getting fat". It's a great combination of sweet ingredients that tantalize your tastebuds in a perfect harmony. Loved my many, Gibanica brings a bit of inspiration into the cook's everyday life. It's just hard to imagine not to try making it at home and serving it to your family.

Lake Bled Kremšnita
Now you're probably wondering, what does Lake and donuts have in common. Well, Lake Bled is one of the gems in Slovenia, where turists can stare at the medieval castle, situated on an island in the middle of the lake. But most travellers don't know about one of the best Slovenian desserts that's made near the Lake Bled. Kremšnita is one of my favorite desserts, because of its simplicity and that fluffiness. It's easy to make and even easier to eat. Trust me, if you serve it to your loved ones, they'll always want more.

Buhteljni
Don't mind the funny name, because this is one of the most eaten authentic desserts in Slovenia. Usually made by our grandmas and served at the family holidays, buhteljni are making us fat like nothing else. There's hardly any dessert that's easier to make. All you need is just a dough, a filling of your choice, a pinch of sugar and voila, you can say "Bye bye" to your diet.

So, these are my favorite desserts, responsible for a couple of extra pounds in the last year. After looking at my waist, I almost felt sorry to eat them. However, what's life without a bit of endulgement, right? Right. Yum:)
